RSVP Reader

This Privacy Policy explains what data may be processed when you use RSVP Reader, why that data is used, and how you can manage your choices.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the RSVP Reader mobile app, its PWA version, and optional in-app features. The app primarily provides a speed-reading experience and may also include document upload, pasted text, text extraction from URLs, AI-assisted section detection, advertising, and subscription flows.

2. Data We Collect Directly

The app can be used without creating an account. We do not ask for your name, surname, email address, phone number, or identity information. However, while the app is running, the following categories of data may be processed locally:

Content data: PDF, DOCX, EPUB, and TXT files you upload; text you paste into the app; title, text, or URLs you share with the app; and web page text retrieved at your request.
Reading data: your last opened document, reading progress, daily words read, total words read, and daily goal data.
Preference data: selected language, theme, font family, ORP color, reading speed, font size, onboarding status, and similar app settings.
On-device technical data: basic crash information and local state required for the app to function.

Most of this data is stored on your device in localStorage and IndexedDB. Your document library and document contents are not sent to the operator's own servers by default.

3. How We Use Data

To open your documents, store them in your library, and continue your reading experience.
To show reading progress and statistics.
To remember your app settings.
To verify subscription status.
To display ads in the free version and measure ad performance.
To provide AI section detection when you request it.
To maintain app security, stability, and core functionality.

4. Third-Party Services

Google AdMob

Banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads may appear in the free version. Device identifiers, IP address, ad interaction data, and similar technical data may be processed by Google for ad delivery and measurement.

RevenueCat

RevenueCat is used for premium subscriptions and purchase restoration. Purchase status, product information, subscription entitlements, and related transaction data may be processed by RevenueCat and the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Google Gemini API

If you use the AI section detection feature, part or all of the selected text may be sent to Google Gemini API. We recommend not using highly sensitive or special-category text with this feature.

5. Retention Periods

Local data: your document library and reading progress may remain on your device until you delete them.
Subscription data: may be retained within the relevant app store and RevenueCat systems.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data on our own behalf. Limited sharing may take place with advertising, subscription, AI, and proxy service providers to deliver the app's functionality.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You can delete documents inside the app and clear your local library.
You can clear the app data stored on your device.

8. Policy Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If we make a material change, we will post the new effective date on this page.

This text should be updated as the product behavior changes. In particular, if third-party services or AI features change scope, the policy should be revised on the same date.
